The Power of Our Words

I am blessed to be part of the Encounter Church Family and to have Phil and Becky as our Pastors. This is a church where the truth is preached, and the word of God is declared.

Over the past months, Phil has spoken a great deal about the power of our words and that life and death are indeed in the tongue. We can choose to speak blessings or curses.

It has been instilled into our spirits that words are one of our most powerful weapons and that what we speak we will reap. If we are always speaking negativity, then guess what, we will receive negativity in our circumstances and lives, but if we are speaking positively then our outcome will be positive.

We need to be declaring God’s word over our circumstances and over our lives and the lives of our families, especially those that need to come into the Kingdom.

It’s so important to declare the goodness of God over our lives, to speak the things that are not as if they are, to bring them to pass. There has never been a time when we need to understand who we are in God more than right now, how powerful we are through the Holy Spirit, that we are more than conquerors and that if God is for us who can be against us.

I wrote the below poem called Alphabet Child of God a couple of years ago. These are scriptural declarations of who we are in God, how He sees us, not how the world sees us, and indeed how we sometimes see ourselves. I encourage you to declare these truths over yourself and over your situations and pray that you will be reminded of how special and precious you are in the eyes of Almighty God, your Heavenly Father.

I am Adopted into Gods family, I am Accepted, I am Above and not below, I am the Apple of God’s eye.

I Belong to the Body of Christ. I am Blessed. I am Bought at a price. I am the Bride of Christ.

A Child of the Most High God, I am more than a Conqueror and I was Chosen before the Creation of the world.

I am Delivered, I have a God-given Destiny and I am a Daughter of the King.

I have Eternal life.

I am a Friend of God. I am Forgiven, Free and Favoured. I am Fearfully and wonderfully made.

I am saved by Grace. I have been found not Guilty.

I have a Hope, I am the Head and not the Tail. I am seated in Heavenly places.

I have a God-given Identity and Inheritance.

I have been Justified.

I belong to the Kingdom of God.

I am Loved by the Most High God.

Made in the image of God, Moulded by his hands. I am not a Mistake; I am God’s Masterpiece.

My Name in the lamb’s book of life, and is written on the palms of His hands.

The Old has gone and the new has come and I am an Overcomer.

I am Precious.

My thirst has been Quenched and I have been Qualified.

I am Redeemed, Rescued and made Righteous.

I am Set free, Saved, Spotless and blameless in His Sight, Sealed by God, Set apart, Sanctified, Special, Shameless and I have been Set free from the power of Sin.
